I watched Baby Driver over the weekend (thank you public library for having free DVD rentals) and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was surprised that the movie was named after the Simon & Garfunkle song “Baby Driver”, not the KISS song of the same name, which is just as awful a song.

I did like the use of “Neat Neat Neat” by the Damned, one of my favorite bands and songs.

I didn’t see Baby Driver before that news broke, so now I probably never will. I realize that there are ways to watch it without giving him any financial benefit, I just think it would be too distracting for me.

I love the scene where Baby is walking down the street and the lyrics to the song playing keep showing up on the background.

I actually got to see that movie last week after fixing a friends impala that wouldnt hand back its ignition key.

50 bucks, a burger from five guys, and a free red box rental of baby driver was pretty excellent day

I thought Baby Driver was good, not great. “Slick” is the word I can think of to sum it up.

Slick is a perfect summary of it, actually. I was most impressed with the music and how well it was integrated.

And Jon Hamm. I barely know him (wife does all the show watching) but he was goooooood.

I knew who Jon Hamm was, but really haven’t watched much of his work. He plays a terrific asshole.

One thing I dislike with movies like this is the unnecessary drama. The ‘hardcore’ criminals like to pick on their primary source of escape for no reason whatsoever. Generally, I don’t care if he shows up dressed as the Easter Bunny as long as he can get us out of danger quickly. I see no need to try and ‘establish’ dominance with no actual goal since I am not as good a driver as he is. I’d rather have the driver like me so I am not left behind as he thought I was an asshole.

So I was a tad annoyed by that...my military teams all had odd ‘ceremonies’ or good luck charms. No one gave a shit about these unless it affected their performance or put us in danger.
